there is no way to over dress...
<8:-)
...60% of the people that come to the festival
dress up. Some time I'm not sure what they are
dressing up to be though. One time I saw Elvis walk
by followed by a guy dressed like the grim
reaper....you NEVER know what you are going to see
and that is the beauty of the place. Heather and Debby wearing some ~The

Portsmouth, VA
May (Mothersday weekend)
This is a show that has
always been a Norfolk family tradition during Mother's Day Weekend
but has now moved. With its new location at Portsmouth, one can
experience a day among the artists and dine in the wonderfully
tasteful restaurants that surround the show.
The
Art Show is a mix of craftsmen and artisans working from abstract
forms to contemporary as well as traditional works. For many of the
artisans, this is their only show of the year, so there are some
wonderful and unusual - one of a kind pieces displayed. Live music is
scattered around the show to add to the Artsy atmosphere. There is
also lots of parking conveniently available nearby.
Ghent region of Norfolk, VA
Mid May
This is an Art show
nestled in a beautiful park in Ghent.
There
is a feeling of Art and appreciation of Art all around you at this
show. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly like Art show of the early
70's. There is a wonderful mix of abstract, contemporary and
traditional work displayed to appeal to everyone. A beautiful place
to hang out on a sunny spring weekend. There are various stages with
live music and yummy food scattered through out the show. Parking can
be tricky but it is worth the drive to see this show.
